REASON : Unintentional disabling of SK system after Cat Product Status Update
COMPLETION : Immediately
Solution:
1. Parameter changes to hoist circuit.
The Spray King system uses the hoist neutral or hold and the full raise to provide hydraulic power needed to run the SK hydraulics. We are seeing machines coming out of the dealers, after service, with the hoist parameter change from enable to disabled. Please make all technicians, working on units with a SK tank installed, aware that this change will disable the SK system and the spray system will not function.
2. Spray King electrical interface with Cat hoist circuit.
Spray King electrical interface happens at the hoist lever switch harness connection. The TOP SWITCH COM pin 10 M99-E627 PK-18 circuit is cut and a SK input circuit (blue) wire is connected. A two-pin connector is installed on both ends the cut circuit. If the SK system fails and the machine will not start the SK system can be unplugged and the Cat hoist reconnected. This will allow for machine to start and move the machine to a safe place for SK service to begin.
Once repairs have been completed, the SK connection must be reconnected in order for the SK system to control hydraulics from the HMI.
